This field is used to set the default profit ratio at the local S2k for all new sites. This setting can be edited at the local to whatever the station owner wants. But the default can be set here. If nothing is entered the default is 100%. This setting should only be used for the department and not sub-department. Default margin is shown in the Department Sales margin screen if no SKU sales are entered. It is also used with the tolerance level to avoid crazy margins when a few items have incorrectly entered costs. If you do not want a department to calculate a margin or profit, set the margin to 0.
